Working My Network
Apparently massive failure is good for my blog stats, which have about tripled since I announced my rejection by Wharton. Speaking of blog stats, do any of you wordpress users know where I can get a good site meter that will work with wordpress…because their built in stats kind of suck.
I spent the morning sending emails to some of my best contacts, telling them I’m looking for work and willing to relocate. I have some good contacts. I really do. It is one of the advantages of working on multi-organization and multi-state projects. You build relationships with a lot of people.
A couple people have sent me leads already. One of them was a program officer position with a foundation in NYC. How perfect would that be?
Meanwhile, Dawn wrote this amazing post about her experience with Women Unlimited. It gave me hope that maybe I can figure this career stuff out at some point.
wow. thanks for the plug.
Don’t sell yourself short. something will happen. It may not be what you expect, it probably won’t fit into what you had planned, but if you are open to the possibilities, it could well be the life-changing thing you didn’t know you were looking for. I have faith in you. You’ll be ok. I can feel it.
I use statcounter and I like it a lot.
Thanks, Dawn. I hope your instincts are good.
Amity, I use statcounter on my blogger blogs, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it work with wordpress. How did you do it?
You have to embed it in your template. If your template is not editable, ask CSB to make it thus. My brother helped me.
